  1. It's #Halloween today, so I have prepared for the visitors that will probably start to call in a few hours!

I am giving a healthy option in the form of apples (and also have some packs of microwavable popcorn for groups so that they can have it freshly made!).

One of the buckets is all vegan sweets - not intentional, but nice to have options. The other bucket isn't vegan (probably gelatine)

  2. Responses to my #Beetlejuice costume have varied from "Jesus Christ, Cian!" to "WTF" and one yelp.

Which isn't a huge spread in fairness, but it did the trick.

  3. - Wow, that’s creepy as hell, - a friend comments on the photo of the famous carved turnip from the National Museum- I won’t leave that thing in the house for a night.

    - It’s Ireland, mate. If you don’t put it in your house at night, it will find your house and invite itself in.

  4. First attempt at carving a traditional jack-o-lantern.

I only realized my mistake when the lantern was done: I approached it pumpkin-style, where you just carve a spooky face on the round surface. But a turnip is different, you kind of need to let the turnip show its own creepy face, using its natural features rather than just carving something artificial on top.
Each turnip is an individual with its own features, you just need to see it.

  5. The black bat
The black bat over your head,
The eerie acts in the air,
You have got to be scary,
No you also need to scare,
    Because it's Halloween time,
    Wish you a happy Halloween!

  6. Today is ##Halloween, the best day of the year. It's a time for eating sweets, dressing up, and going wild on the decorations. Self-expressions is fundamentally baked into this most wonderful of days.

You'll often hear it referred to as #Samhain, but this is incorrect. Samhain actually falls on 1 November, and Hallowe'en is Samhain Eve. Just as Nollaig (Christmas) is preceeded by Oíche Nollaig, so Samhain is prcedded by #OícheShamhna (Halloweeen)

    Well, more or less.
