The in browser firmware flash for the DIY #airgradient appears to be out of date by ... forever. If you're building the board from #OHS2026, take the time to build the firmware from Arduino instead for Home Assistant integration, etc. Lesson learned the hard way.
Works great now.

During #HardwareHappyHour before #OHS2026, I was talking to someone about synths and they recommended to get an @oskitone POLY555 to play around with. Cannot remember who I was talking to though. And too bad the full POLY555 kits are out-of-stock at the moment 🙈

I love the Wera set, but it's too heavy for packing it in the kit. The extra Philips driver was for repairs on the house, and is normally redundant I'd say.
Really curious about the ifixit kit. I have the big one at home, and got this one during #OHS2026, which seems like a perfect fit. The bitholder is a bit lighter (plastic instead of metal), which is neat in terms of weight, but it certainly doesn't feel quite as nice.
I'm missing a decent waterproof marker. Had a mini sharpie which I can't find anymore that would be perfect. But something else that would write on that pink duck tape is definitely coming in the next iteration.
I also carry a Leatherman Micra on my keys which isn't on here, but I use all the time, mostly for the scissors.
Lastly I need a different pouch 🤔 -
Finally putting together the #ohs2026 badge, realizing I should've done it right at the summit with people around to figure things out together 🙈
But I can hardly find any information on it online. Which raises the obvious question: is the #ohs2026 badge open hardware, @oshwassociation ? #oshw -
Every year, @oshwassociation convenes with several hundred #hardware #hackers, #academics, and enthusiasts at a carefully-selected international destination for the #OpenHardware Summit. A collection of #talks, #workshops, exhibits, and satellite activities, #OHS provides an annual appraisal of the state of #OpenSource hardware, while sharing a glimpse at what’s next.
Couldn't make it to Germany for this year's event? We've you covered with a full recap!

🙈 I was looking to build a kit from an #OHS2026 workshop I didn't manage to go to. Found it only in US online stores, with shipping being more expensive than the kit itself. But it was at Open Hardware Summit, so it should be available, right?
Went searching and searching, finally found the git repo, go find the license -> CC-NC (Non-Commercial). Which isn't open-source per definition. @oshwassociation is pretty specific about that one even (https://oshwa.org/resources/open-source-hardware-may-and-must/)
I'm not even mad. Just a bit disappointed. Or maybe I just worry about stuff like that too much. Hmm.

Another year in the books! #OHS2026 was full of surprises.
We accomplished so much through the support of our wonderful volunteers.
Thank you to our local partner, @nodeforum and @tuberlin for space. Thank you to LAUDS factories and Robert Mies for tireless support and solutions for every little problem.More than anything we are thankful for this incredible community of tender, beautiful, strange, smart humans who join us at the Summit. None of this would be possible without your support.

After seeing a lightning talk by @smartperson I’m deffo looking into combining our weekly Guinea pig weights with other datasets, such as ambient temperature, humidity, etc. Might finally discover if the phase of the moon influences their health. #GuineaPigs #ohs2026

I sure love the cast iron railing in the math building of TU Berlin. And wonder how they would look without the thick red paint. #OHS2026

We will switcheroo rooms for the the "Learn to solder with TV-B-Gone remote control" and "Learn how to design a circuit board in KiCad" workshops.
Kicad: Spargel
TV-B-Gone: Fleischsalat(Reason: the "spargel" room is not suitable for soldering)

Really love this Raktajino mug from #OHS2026
The building also has a little promenade vibe with the two floors and industrial design railings. Its a great fit.

Excellent workshop by Jessica Stanley at #OHS2026 teaching how to make DIY flexible PCBs.
Mine is purple. -
We were here all day and no one hacked this majestic CRT. Checked, the power cable has been cut at the rear. Annoyed I had to leave my tools at home. I do not see a "do not hack" sign on it. #OHS2026

Good first day at #OHS2026. Rare that I pretty much sit for the entire speaker track. Am really enjoying the architecture of the Mathematics building at TU Berlin.

Well I’ve certainly had my interest in open hardware tickled. #ohs2026
