So, I might have asked for preferred shells recently, and I ended up setting on #zsh with #OhMyZsh. And I love it! Some of the built-in aliases make my life a lot easier, but the autocompletion is really the thing that makes my life so much better.

@delegatevoid Its pretty similar to the `glod` alias that comes in #ohmyzsh (along with a bunch of other aliases).

Main difference is the #ohmyzsh one lists the date/time the commit was made, the one you've posted indicates how long ago it was made.

Decided to customise #LinuxMint on my old #Macbook Air 13", 2012. I only use it very sparingly so never took time to personalise it. I just installed #zsh onto the #gnometerminal and my favourite theme #Powerlevel10k. Time to choose a colour theme! This seems like a good source!

I'm using #zsh with #OhMyZSH per-directory-history plugin.

It's pretty neat, but sometimes it just drops entire history for no reason.

Are there something similar but better?

I've heard about @atuin it looks cool, but more complex solution.

Maybe I should try @nushell with sqlite history.

Hot tip: if you're starting to work with #kubernetes, get the shell completions for the tools you use installed. They'll help A LOT because tools like kubectl have a positively insanity inducing number of subcommands and options, and rich completion really helps with learning and discoverability!

I use #ohmyzsh so it's as simple as adding the plugin for that tool.

Bei mir dauert wiederholtes sourcen der .zshrc immer länger - am Schluss war ich bei 120 Sekunden.

Der Profiler der #ZSH sagt, dass die Funktionen "compinit" und "compdump" so lange brauchen. Ich hab aber keine Ahnung, woran das liegt 🤷‍♂️

Jemand eine Idee? Hab übrigens #OhMyZSH und #powerlevel10k installiert.

I switched from #OhMyZsh to a stock #Bash without completion 10 years ago. And while I enjoy minimalism, whenever I boot #KaliLinux (which ships with a pretty decent #ZshRc) I feel like I've made a #HugeMistake.

I don't like the bulkieness of #OhMyZsh, lack of transparency and at least one bug I know of. What are your suggestions? I want to use a great fuzzy, bash-compatible system which reads my mind. I also want it to be very usable out of the box without some weird scripts like OMZ.
