Enjoyed exploring the disused Llynfi railway line stretching into the village of Aberkenfig alongside the River Ogmore as part of my Pyle Sarn Slow Ways adventure. An interesting Ramblers walk today called the three rivers walk. It also included an old cemetery used by staff and patients of the nearby former Angelton Lunatic Asylum. Braved (?!) a short blizzard this morning to get a #DailyPhoto of #Ogmore #Castle. Was hoping for more #snow on the walls, but 🤷♂️.

Another grey day in South #Wales today, but managed a quick #DogWalk down the #Ogmore #River to #OgmoreBySea, Plenty of #Gulls and #Stonechat around, a good view of #TuskerRock and a happy #GoldenRetriever

A short #walk to the confluence of the #Ewenny and #Ogmore rivers today gave me frustratingly distant views of many #birds, including Redwing, Little Egret, Kingfisher, Goldcrest, Shelduck , Goosander, Teal, Goldeneye, Redshank and a flock of 30+ Curlews. My photography skills were particularly bad today, but even a blurry photo of a curlew is worth it in my opinion 😏

- the (locally) famous "Bouncy Bridge" (in need of a coat of paint, with the ruined 12th Century #Ogmore #Castle in the background.
- The pretty "chocolate box" village of #MerthyrMawr
- The #BigDipper #SandDune , 2nd largest in Europe at 61m, and finally
- The ruins of the 14th Century #Candleston Castle
