What do you call a feeling that's like nostalgia but for a time you don't miss, and in fact hated?
I love the music of my youth, The #Offspring and #SkunkAnanzi and #GreenDay and #TheVerve and... You get it.
Which may sound odd from the guy who loves #powerwolf and #brothersofmetal.
Well it's because I'm happy. But I was miserable when that music was current. I was closeted, depressed and deeply unhappy. I was filled with impotent rage. That music let me express all that in healthy ways. It was an outlet that undoubtedly saved my life several times.
I dont have nostalgia for that time. I hated it. But I still love the music that helped me survive it.

Om få timer skal jeg til årets allerførste frivilligmøde!
Vi starter tidligt i år, men da vi afholder OFFSpring i slutningen af februar, er det ved at være på tide.
Vi er ikke så mange i år. 35 mod de 45 fra sidste år. Taget i betragtning at der er over 130 frivillige ved OFF i august, som meget gerne vil med, så føler man sig lidt heldig at være blevet en del af den gruppe.
Jeg er meget spændt på hvordan det bliver i år. Vi har jo fået en egentlig leder. Og han har rigtigt mange idéer!

I only realized recently that in #nature, every #offspring number that exceeds the number of parents (usually 2) is going to die more or less early (as food for other species) in order to keep the population under control.
(num animals dying early) = (num offspring) - (num parents)
So if a species produces dozens, hundreds or even more children, all but (usually) two are not going to make it.
