  1. Just now on "#TheWeekend" on #MSNBC:

"If Donald T**** started selling #pardons, no one could do anything about it b/c the power to pardon is 'an official act' and his #SCotUS has ruled '#OfficialActs' can't even be INVESTIGATED much less prosecuted." #ReasonsNotToVoteForTrump

  2. Supreme Court Justice #KetanjiBrownJackson said she was "concerned" about court's landmark decision that granted former #Trump #immunity from #prosecution for #officialacts he took while in office. Jackson, in an interview with "CBS Evening News" anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell, suggested the #ruling gives Trump special treatment compared to anyone else in the #criminaljustice system. #democracy #legalresearch #courts #election2020 #peaceful #transferofpower cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court

  3. #FederalProsecutor #SpecialCounsel #JackSmith Alters #January6 #DJT #Indictment with new #GrandJury after #SCOTUS protects #Trump #PresidentialPowers saying he is immune for ALL #OfficialActs .

#WaPo analysis describes how Smith had to omit conversations #Trump had with #FederalOfficials and focus only on obstruction activities of his non govt employee allies.

  4. Well, #JoeBiden, I sure hope you plan on taking advantage of these next few months of #immunity for #OfficialActs.

    Get to work, Mr. President.

  5. We now have a sitting Democratic president committed to social justice and not seeking reelection who, by definition, cannot be charged with doing anything illegal in his remaining time as president...

And a likely next Democratic president committed to social justice who is a former prosecutor and thus is well-equipped to determine what otherwise illegal acts are "official presidential acts."

    Great Work Supreme Court!

  6. #SCOTUS #Trump #immunity ruling poses risk for #democracy, experts say

Former #Nixon White House counsel #JohnDean said Monday that had the court’s ruling been in force in the early 1970s, #history could have turned out very differently.

“As I looked at it, I realized Richard Nixon would have had a pass” because the #evidence against him was based on #OfficialActs the #SupremeCourt has deemed #immune from prosecution.

  7. On the other hand, it appeared to leave open the possibility that the court might draw distinctions — or ask lower courts to — between #OfficialActs & private ones.

…a 3-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, …unanimously rejected his arg that he may not be prosecuted for actions he took while in office. The panel, made up of 1 #Republican appointee & 2 #Democratic ones, said #Trump became an ordinary #citizen in the eyes of #criminal #law after leaving office.

    #SCOTUS

  8. When #SCOTUS agreed to hear the case, it said it would decide:“Whether & if so to what extent does a fmr president enjoy #PresidentialImmunity from #criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve #OfficialActs during his tenure in office.”
That sentence has been closely scrutinized. On the one hand, it seemed to exclude from consideration #Trump’s argument that his #acquittal at his 2nd #impeachment, on charges that he incited #insurrection, blocked any prosecution on similar charges.

  9. If #SCOTUS does not rule until late June or sends the case back to the lower courts for further consideration of the scope of any #immunity, the #trial might not take place until after the election.

If #Trump prevails in the #election, he could order the #DOJ to drop the charges.
