Partner is getting rid of an office chair. I offered to take it to work to join the herds of free-roaming chairs there (academic library, there's several generations of wheely chairs in the conference rooms).

I recently switched to the Ikea LÅNGFJÄLL office chair. It's great in that it's minimal, affordable, looks good and very comfortable. It's one fatal flaw though is that it has to be the most static electricity generating chair in the history of office chairs.

Consider replacing your chair's wheels ('casters').
It often doesn't require tools. It might protect your floors a smidgen better. And it's an upgrade nearly anyone can do. Would recommend. 10/10 upgrade to the home setup.
