Ich habe mail kontakte kalender zu posteo umgezogen. DAVx5 synchronisiert alles, funktioniert wunderbar.ABER
Posteo unterstützt keine Termine mit Einladungen an Dritte. Diese Termine sind zwar im Kalender des Absenders, die Eingeladenen erhalten aber keine Mail oder sonstige Information.
Es gibt einen unkomfortablen work around über browser und ics-Datei-Versand aber soweit geht die Liebe dann doch nicht. Somit nutze ich nach wie vor den Google-Kalender parallel für Termine mit Anderen. Was mich sehr ärgert. Gestern haben wir dir eine Cloud-Alternative empfohlen. Wenn du nur Kalender- und Adressbuchfunktionen in der Cloud nutzen möchtest, brauchst du nicht unbedingt eine Nextcloud. Die E-Mail-Anbieter Posteo und mailbox.org liefern dir diese Option kostenlos zu deinem E-Mail-Account dazu. Mailbox.org beinhaltet ab 2,5€/Monat sogar das Teilen von Dateien per Link und ein Online-Office.

I currently have to use a #Windows11 PC with #Office365 for a side gig. And holy crap, does that put all my (still valid, IMHO) complaining about #macOS26 and #LiquidGlass into perspective.
There is so much wrong with Windows’ interaction design, I just cannot comprehend how a company with that kind of resources can ship… this.
I still hope that Apple will get their act together, now that an actual #UX whiz is in charge of their #HCI. Windows, though, definitely is no viable alternative.

It isn't that you *have* to go to LibreOffice. It's more that you *should*. Simply to reduce stress and to improve the quality of your life.
I'm not a Microsoft or Windows "hater". In fact, I'd say Windows has gotten easier for FOSS and CLI people to use now that a Ubuntu subsystem is supported.
But, seriously, if there's a FOSS tool that does more or less what a commercial tool does, and happens to do it well, switching to FOSS is often a no-brainer.
Commercial tools necessarily build, over time, bloat, lock-in, and what Doctorow refers to as "enshittification". It's in their nature. More and more AI now as well [though some FOSS tools are starting to include that].
A switch from Word to LibreOffice, in particular, is the right move. The primary issue, for most people, is the learning curve required because LibreOffice isn't a Word clone. The GUI and some of the concepts are different. However, most who make the switch will agree that the effort was worthwhile.
The switch helps to avoid lock-in to Microsoft. If somebody is on Windows, this is one of the key steps involved in escaping Windows as well. LibreOffice also doesn't send everything that you type to Microsoft and from there to the U.S. govt. The price tag of zero dollars is attractive, too.
Document conversion in the Word to LibreOffice direction can be tricky. However, I've always found that, if you use solely LibreOffice to create documents, they open and work well for everybody in your workgroups.

@tatsh Woo! mutt-oauth2 just made my day!
Previously a gent from MIT IS&T put in HEROIC amounts of effort to pull together the prior jank-fest of oauth2 scripts and mutt configurations...
But with your nice new package I can 'uv tool install', add the bits you specified to my muttrc and BOOM! I'm reading my MIT E-mail in a sane interface that doesn't make my remaining damaged eye want to shrivel up and retire :)

Office 365 an Schulen: Hannover kauft falsche Microsoft-Lizenzen für 324.000 Euro

Nennt es, wie ihr wollt, aber man ist dann sozusagen auf Abruf der Ansprechpartner für die Kunden. Ich habe mir gedacht, ich erzähle euch mal ein paar Takte dazu. Und nein, ich gehe nicht auf Interna oder auf Kunden selbst ein. Ich denke aber, man kann durchaus mal erzählen, was man so tut. Damit halte ich ja auch sonst nicht hinterm Berg.

...I was taken to three modules and I'm still not sure I properly disabled it.Most of that 2 hours was wasted watching #microslop propaganda.

I'm using #Gnome #Calendar (version 46.1) and I'm finding a lot of bugs when adding or removing events. Event dates are postponed when adding them, as well as it's not possible (to me) to create a full 1-day event. Is this related to #Office365 or is it a general bug?

I sometimes try to use the Microsoft #Copilot that comes bundled with #Office365 now. All the training for this feature warn you thoroughly to double check answers and so on due to the hallucination problem. But its still frustrating as hell when you give it a simple task and it fails miserably.
I told it to look in our company's cloud file storage for a document that had my name "Tim Farley" in it along with a particular CVE number (also in quotes). I was looking for an old report where I had written up a particular vulnerability. It very quickly showed me a link to a document that I recognized as one of my reports, and offered "would you like to see the exact paragraph". I said sure, show me the exact paragraph.
It then wrote me 257 WORDS explaining how it had screwed up, and the CVE number I gave it is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND in that document. Included was some mumbo jumbo about how it uses parallel partial searches to do its work or some such. AND IT COMPLIMENTED ME on challenging its answer.
A ton has been written on how #AI might replace low-level jobs such as interns. But I swear to you if I had an intern who behaved like this, I would put them on a performance improvement plan!
How is this acceptable performance for a product that people pay a bunch of money for? Would you buy Excel if on the bottom of every page it said "HEY YOU BETTER CHECK ALL MY MATH BECAUSE I MIGHT HAVE SCREWED UP SOMETHING"?

As #Office365 user privately, I was thinking to take a look on #GoogleWorkplace and entry point is killer for me. My google account is exactly as my email, so this is unmanaged account from Workplace perspective. To use that email I need to make it managed, but I’m owner of family group with YouTube Premium so I need to close this group to make my account managed and to cover YouTube make another unmanaged account and establish group from scratch. Too much work for me even to take a look but prerequisites to even be able to setup my email are painful. I see as NoGo even to try. Maybe with the luck I’m will be able to not lock down myself on google side but #Microsoft solved it better, you may have the same email as login for private and “corprorate” access and once you login the service ask you which one you want to use and continue.
