#Kater steigt ungefragt beim #Prusa ein... Resultat: 3h lange Fehlersuche warum der #octopi mit #octoprint den #3ddrucker nicht mehr erkennt. Das HAT-Board war wohl durch zu viel Katzengewakle relativ zum #raspberrypi verrutscht 🙄🙄🙄 #fml

How I got along all this time without @octoprint , I’ll never know.
No more traipsing back and forth to the printer to grab an SD card. Hallelujah!
Now I just need to get a camera for the Zero 2 W so I can stop traipsing back and forth to monitor the print.

4. SD-Karte aus Pi in Laptop stecken
5. Raspberry Pi Image Schreiben starten

8. bemerken, dass der Backup-Download durch das Ausschalten des 3D-Printers unterbrochen wurde (Raspi wird vom Printer mit Strom versorgt) und das Backup-Fragment leider keine brauch-/rettbaren Daten enthältNaja.... 😑

@CachyOS That is good and I'm happy for you as a developer who is behind #cachyos.
I personally also like #cachyos, but to be able to use it permanently, the package manager #octopi should also be replaced by Pacman or Pamac (not as Aur) or even with Bauh Plus own (further) development by this package manager, where it is also a notification and the Portmaster under #cachyos Errors are registered more in the execution.
Otherwise, not only specified DNS servers should be possible for use, but also user-defined DNS servers and that this setting should not simply be switched to the DNS servers from Cloudflare without doing anything, which I do not like either.
And these log files in the initial installation, which are also unnecessary if it should still be available.
Will there be a kind of immutable version of #cachyos in the future, where there is no pre -installed software or at least to the minimum and most important to install programs yourself?
Because I am also looking for a good, better, stabilizing and also a safe alternative to #manjaro #linux and #cachyos has the potential for it, which is already better than #manjaro #linux now and I already like.

Gerade entnervt aufgegeben. Das Klonen einer #sdhc mit einer #octopi Installation ist weder mit Win32 Disk Imager noch mit Rufus gelungen, alles nicht Boot-fähiger Müll. Nicht nur das das widerlich ist, ich müsste das manuell neu einrichten, und es saugt mir gerade alle verfügbare Motivation ab. Eine Flex ansetzen und den #CR10 klein machen und gegen einen Drucker ersetzen der das einfach kann klingt gerade richtig gut. #3ddruck

aaaaaand it continues. #Octopi hung partway through the temp tower for the new filament. (Very strange, completely gone. It even dropped off wifi, using an external dongle.)
One more try. All I want for today is to print a few #HSW accessories for these tools on my desk, and a test print of my #esphome speaker. 12 hours or so total. Not that much to ask I think.
So far the newest, shortened, PTFE tube seems to be ok. ("Seems to be" because I've only had 2 or 3 load cycles on it with one type of filament.) And #Hatchbox is always the expected size from end to end, so hopefully no more PTFE jams. 🤞

Seems it doesn't want to share info with #Octoprint
Firmware version is 3.2.6"Your printer's firmware supports host action commands, but they are disabled. The firmware will not inform OctoPrint about job pause & cancellations, filament runouts, and similar firmware-side events. If you want this functionality, you need to change your firmware's configuration."

Clean and shiny!
With gentle heating, and less gentle heating, and very ungentle cursing, I was able to reuse the heater and thermistor. (Hat tip to @OttersDangerDen for pointing out that heat softens thermoplastic.) Saved me having to redo that stupid wiring harness. (The burns on my hand are actually unrelated to that project 😹)
The "test" print is a new fill tube for the #hydroponics tower. I have faint hopes that it will clear the shelf better, or at least push the problem around back far enough that I don't care.

For those that use #OctoPrint, how many of you would love to have a #plugin that allows you to configure several settings relative to your Nozzle and/or Hotends?
Now that swappable Nozzles and Hotends are a thing; it seems like it would be nice to adjust temp settings on the fly.

I designed and printed a squirrel baffle, meant to sit on a bird feeder pole and deter squirrels. I'm not sure if it will work, but the time lapse of the print was kind of neat. Enjoy!

"The clues that scientists uncovered are called 'jumping genes,' or transposons, and they make up 45% of the human genome. Jumping genes are short sequences of DNA with the ability to copy and paste or cut and paste themselves to another location in the genome, and they've been linked to the evolution of genomes in multiple species. Genetic sequencing recently revealed that two species of octopus — Octopus vulgaris and Octopus bimaculoides — also have genomes that are filled with transposons, according to a study published May 18 in the journal BMC Biology.
"In both humans and octopuses, most transposons are dormant, either shut down due to mutations or blocked from replicating by cellular defenses, the study authors reported. But one kind of transposon in humans, known as the Long Interspersed Nuclear Elements or LINE, may still be active. Evidence from prior studies suggests that LINE jumping genes are tightly regulated by the brain, but are still important for learning (opens in new tab) and for memory formation in the hippocampus."'

Atm I've got #nextcloud, #HomeAssitant, #deconz, #minidlna, #pihole, and #octopi spread over three RPi4s here at home. And a couple or robots built around PiZeroWs. So much fun for me - and the kids. (yes, I claim it is for them, but I also enjoy it 😜)
