Walked to the train station, tried to avoid trouble areas, but ended up taking Ave. Jean Medicine, passing the large police activity against group of young people still trying to break into shops.
- Footlocker
- "Free" internet boutique
- Bouygues telecom office
- Phone case shop
- Lacoste store
- 2 more stores I forgot the names
Were broken into and emptied. There were more looting attempts when we were leaving and had to run from another round of teargas.
I don't understand this, it's really sad to watch them steal items and act like it is a protest.
Had a rather unpleasant argument with my daughter who was ok with breaking in and destroying shops, because "it is a protest against the system", which I didn't agree and asked her to leave with me back home.
It was an "interesting" day out, not really what I was hoping to see, but a good experience for my daughter to learn how to behave during police attacks and wash her eyes and cover her face to be safe.
Overall it was an adventure worth remembering for both of us.
On the train, there were kids comparing their loots and checking out the prices online, one pair of Lacoste pants was €140 and I didn't hear the hat and the sweater prices. One kid had 4 phone covers, but none for her phone 16, and other one had a few playstation games...
