I solved the problem by teaming up with a colleague who is able to print at work* and steal the paper and ink from our employer.
Also now I understand why the #Octatrack does not come with a printed version of the manual.
*) I'm not able to print because there's no Linux support for the print solution we have.

Is an #octatrack a sellable commodity? Every time I take a break from using mine and come back to it, I have to learn how to use it again. I know what it’s capable of but, in my opinion, it doesn’t have the best trouble / fun ratio.

My #Octatrack is in Party Mode. Apparently this is not a good thing... Everything points to a bigger issue with the UI PCB. :(

Just found out a new Octatrack here in Norway costs around 4000 NOK more (roughly 370 usd) than when I bought mine 3-4 years ago (current price 18 000 NOK) And while the Octa has received a paint job and some UX improvements it is internally the same device as when launched 10+ years ago. Don’t get me wrong, the Octatrack is an awesome machine and I understand how both inflation and shortages on parts are causing this price, but it cannot be considered a realistic pick for young, underground musicians (maybe it never was). For 18k NOK you can get a very nice laptop, a multipurpose device that does way more than a single groovebox/sampler ever can do. And don’t get me started on Teenage Engineering and their boutique devices. I don’t buy gear anymore, luckily I got what I need, but more importantly it’s just too expensive. 2. #Piano preset on the nearest keyboard

8. #Atari / #FPGA Atari
9. Old setup of #808 + two synths
10. #OctatrackThis list is the result of comparing all of those for timing accuracy over the last four or so days.

@drrwn Here’s another online gig I did for #noisefloor that I prerecorded using different camera angles and some abstract video taken from a puddle outside my studio.
You can see the lockdown haircut (or lack of one) plus me eyeballing the camera to see if it’s recording!
To date this is the only performance I’ve done using an #octatrack
