A view across to the southern escarpment of the Ochil Hills, taken from the upper basin of the Falkirk Wheel. The wedge-shaped building in the foreground is the Visitor Centre.

The Falkirk Wheel is a mechanical boat lift that was built for the Millennium. It replaced a flight of 11 locks that originally joined the Union Canal to the Forth & Clyde Canal. It is a very impressive structure, and well worth a visit.

Last week I had a little stroll in the Menstrie Valley and inspected the site where we are thinking of sponsoring about a 100 trees (cash flow permitting😀).
