Там, конечно, встречаются занятные вещи вроде погружения №80 (к Титанику) где при приближении к поверхности раздаётся громкий звук похожий на выстрел.

Лучше всего ситуацию можно описать примерно так:

продолжают погружения без техобслуживания

И много другого интересного - как пытались достать компьютеры, как раскурочивали подводную видеокамеру и что в результате на ней нашли и не нашли, etc.

Slowly reading through the #OceanGate Titan report, so jarring to see a reference to the Gulf of Mexico not be called as such. I suppose it is expected, it is a #USCG document.

In a narrative, however, where experts are ignored for the whims of a 'leader' ... flouting regulatory rules ... financial shenanigans ... and so on ... kinda feels like there was a lesson not learned here.

We're starting to get postmortem analysis due to ongoing testimony about the Ocean Gate Titanic submersible implosion. It sheds new light on how it might have happened. If you're up for it, at least it happened so fast, they never knew what stupid or careless design flaw killed them.
