All Aboard for the Third “Floating University” 🎓🌊
This week, the German research vessel #POLARSTERN sets sail from the subtropical Mindelo, Cabo Verde, on a special expedition.
On board are 13 Master’s students from West Africa, who will experience marine research at first hand during the two-week voyage to Bremerhaven, Germany.

Safer shores: The global #tsunami early warning project led by Joern Behrens has been recognized as a #UNESCO #OceanDecade Project. The Goal is to ensure broad access to reliable tsunami risk assessments, ultimately improving disaster preparedness and response.

🌊💡The Ocean Re-CREATION Challenge will take place from 16 to 21 September 2024.
A supra-regional #Hackathon on the topic of coastal and marine protection in Schleswig-Holstein, organised by TransMarTech Schlewsig-Holstein. Two challenges were submitted by GEOMAR employees.
