These days, I’m rather so-so on ‘O Brother’. Not because it’s bad. I just listened to the soundtrack way too many times to enjoy the film at the same time, I guess. :D

But this video is great. It feels like a warm blanket. Makes you appreciate the film that much more. https://youtu.be/OktfDSD8NHs #OBrotherWhereArtThou? #CoenBros

Damn! We're in a tight spot!

Do y'all do #MusicWomenWednesday here on the Wafrns? I feel like it's mostly a Mastodon thing, not even Bluesky, but I really don't need an excuse to talk about my favorite lady musicians…

1) Jennifer Rannells - "Distance"
I discovered & fell in love with this album (released in 2002) as a young teen back when you could still discover music on CDBaby by searching for "influences" and "sounds like" and such (the same feature I miss from MySpace!) and it's really one of my most enduring best-loved albums. I just adore the flowing, intricate piano and her lyrics are insidiously evocative and her voice is enchanting.

2) "Obligatory" self-promo… 🤪 ("Didn't Leave Nobody but the Baby" from O Brother Where Art Thou?)
Recorded this with the assistance of my trusty TC-Helicon VoiceLive Touch. There's only two vocal tracks; the harmonies are all generated electronically in real time as I'm singing.
(Check out my other tracks on SoundCloud, too! 💖)

🚨 Movie of the Day: O Brother, Where Art Thou? 🚨
Just finished it for the first time — what a damn mythic, musical, Dapper Dan–soaked fever dream.

Final rating: 4.5/5
🎶 Favorite scene: Tommy at the crossroads
👨‍👧 Favorite moment: Clooney reuniting with his daughters
🌀 Vibe: Cool Hand Luke meets Homer meets Southern Gothic slapstick

Yes, this sounds bad. But imagine how it sounded before Dave cleaned it up a bit. Skype just wasn't playing ball with us at all last night. Apologies.
