Desmond Morris, zoologist and wildlife TV presenter, died on Sunday aged 98.
In the early 90s I was lucky enough to edit a series he presented called 'Animal Country'. Desmond's confident and engaging style made his work accessible to a wide audience. He was a decent man.

One of New Zealand's jazz greats has passed away. Wellington muso Geoff Culverwell weaved magic with his trumpet in bands like Quincy Conserve and the 1860 Band. He played with international acts including Al Jarreau and Renée Geyer and toured NZ with his own big band to widespread acclaim.
While Geoff was a hard working muso who always had a list of gigs lined up, he also enjoyed a parallel career as a horse whisperer. Not many people know that. Shhhhh!
