@trelord75 sadly, a few sections nearby of park in #Oakleigh look as though they've been demolished. Big wide tree lined median in logie street lost a lot of trees. There's bits of #bunya and at least one cone down in Warrawee park - glad I wasn't around when that fell!

Not sure what this is… but it’s turning in preparation for dropping, shortly.
I feature it mainly for the myriad of colours it’s displaying at present, given we’re a couple of weeks into #autumn-propper and the display along this entire street in #Oakleigh #Australia is something special.
There is easily a dozen of the same tree in various stages of transformation along this shopping strip.
PS - have to say I drove along a major road in #MalvernEast after taking these pics… and there was easily a kilometre of these trees spaced say 20-30 metres apart on both side of the street. Couldn’t stop as late for an appointment, but gosh. You can imagine the burst of colours for that rather marvellous drive-time.

It has a restricted distribution in the wild (it’s native home is only the south-west of Western Australia) but it is one of the most commonly planted ornamental #eucalypts.
And bees go wild for these; they must have an abundance of nectar to extract.

This is an interesting find in #Oakleigh #Australia.
Pyracantha, the #Asianfirethorn as my ID App suggests, is a flowering plant in the family Rosaceae, native to western China.
It grows to 4 metres (13 ft) tall and is broad, an evergreen shrub with glossy, narrow leaves, and masses of white flowers (although this is not flowering, it already has, apparently).
Small berries appear usually in abundance, say 5-8 mm in diameter each following the flowering cycle.
This one was jam packed full of berries and they are red, glossy and firm to the touch. Quite a thick skin.
Reminds me of the mistletoe berry or tomato currents. But I’d suggest these ones aren’t for human consumption.

Maybe two pairs of mates?
They’re a cockatoo native to Australia… these ones are mostly white, with a reddish-pink face and forehead, and has a long, pale beak, which is used to dig for roots and seeds.

Good morning, good arvo, evening or night wherever you call HOME!
To kick things off today (my morn 😁) we have a beaming pōhutukawa, which is Māori, for #NewZealandChristmastree.
But it could be a #redflowergum!
My flora identification app is having conflict over which it is. Any experts out there, feel free to confirm, input or advise.
Either way it is gorgeous. And even the bees that were in abundance flittering around this beautiful specimen agree it is an appealing tree to visit.
It displays bright, vibrant red flowering masses with a little bit of green. I’ll definitely go back to this one in a couple of weeks to see if it flowers.

Good morning, good arvo, evening or night wherever you call HOME!
To kick things off today (my morn 😁) we have a beaming pōhutukawa, which is Māori, for #NewZealandChristmastree.
But it could be a #redflowergum!
My flora identification app is having conflict over which it is. Any experts out there, feel free to confirm, input or advise.
Either way it is gorgeous. And even the bees that were in abundance flittering around this beautiful specimen agree it is an appealing tree to visit.
It displays bright, vibrant red flowering masses with a little bit of green. I’ll definitely go back to this one in a couple of weeks to see if it flowers.

Ok #hydrangea fans (these are my most favourite flowering plant of all time!) - here’s a treat!! 🌸
This monstrosity is located in the front yard of a house under renovation in #Oakleigh #Australia. The house is not inhabited and I think it has been left to it’s own devices this summer.
Despite the run of high temperatures and minimal rain, it’s doing very well indeed! Especially since it lives in direct sunlight and I’m not so sure it has had a good watering lately 🤷🏻♂️
Hydrangeas thrive on sunlight (and a regular drink, to rehydrate) albeit partly shaded and you can see the petals of some flowering heads are burnt and not looking tip-top. But surprisingly, it’s in very good condition considering all these factors!
First 2 pics are of some flowers protected under the top foliage, look at the network of veins in those petals.
It’s a beauty, don’t you think?

#agapanthus EVERYWHERE!!
Took this just now in #Oakleigh #Australia - they’re growing along a large bridge; both ends of the bridge ramps (and both sides of the road). They’re absolutely packed with these gorgeous plants!
The pics don’t give the depth and breadth, as the side I photographed was at least a 40 metre stretch. If I had to guess there must be thousands of these flowers in total, just displaying their brilliance this overcast evening.
