Wenn man von Aufstiegen der letzten Jahre spricht, so muss man auch Ref Nika Amashukeli erwähnen. Der Georgier bekommt immer prominentere Spiele (auch gepushed vom Weltverband), aber er macht seine Sache gut. Hat inzwischen IMHO enorm an Statur gewonnen. So auch heute, in einer alles anderen als einfachen Partie.

Half time and what a game, knife edge stuff. Which is good, as a nevermind an arm-wrestle: the last 20 could well be a knife fight! Benches already depleted, both sides playing with big ferocity, this feels more like France vs England 6n than a TRC match! And only 10-7
No idea how to call this one, both sides capable of winning it, but I've a feeling it's gonna be mistakes and hence one side losing it more. Coffee time!

Boks megapissed. Dominieren die ersten 15min, machen Versuch der wg Knock-On zurückgepfiffen wird. Und dann fahren die All Blacks ihren ersten Angriff und der ist so geil fluide und mit Offloads über die volle Spielfeldbreite, dass man den Fernseher ablecken möchte. 7:0, 18te.

A puzzle for #rugby law nerds
In the #RWC2023 final, a try by Aaron Smith was disallowed1. Etzebeth fouled Retallick in the lineout (penalty)
2. The foul caused a knock on at the lineout
3. Play went on and Smith scored in the corner
4. TMO check disallowed the try because of the knock-on, but the original penalty was awarded to NZNow...if Etzebeth's foul prevented a probable try (we know it was probable - it was scored) could a penalty try have been awarded?

That was very much not the match I was expecting, but it sure did keep me watching! I can’t help feeling that South Africa got lucky there. They were not playing that well in the second half, even against a short-sided New Zealand, though there were errors aplenty from both sides. Had SA knocked it off with the drop goal attempts, they might have managed a more decisive victory. #rugby #RWC2023 #NZLvRSA

Congratulations Bokke, and kudos to Wayne Barnes, you can moan all you like about how much TMO there is, but not one call you can argue with in that match.
#AllBlacks could have squeaked it, and it's testament to their team spirit and classy moves, they were a hair's breadth away.
