#ThenAndNow: When Gun Hill Road station in the #Bronx opened in 1912 (the same year this #NYTMCollection photo was taken), it was not part of the #NYCsubway. Instead, it was a stop on the New York, Westchester and Boston Railway.

#TokenTuesday: The Five Boroughs Token debuted in 1995 and was the last token to be used in the #NYCsubway. A fare increase to $1.50 ushered in the new token which featured a pentagonal hole at the center to symbolize the five boroughs of #NYC.

#TodayInHistory: #OnThisDay in 2012, arguably the biggest quirk of the #NYCsubway system was resolved when an uptown transfer finally opened between the 6 train at Bleecker Street station and the B/D/F/M trains at Broadway–Lafayette Street station. The uptown transfer was completed in 2012.

Underway iOS 2.37.0 is live on the App Store! This update moves the "refresh feed from server button" from the floating menu to the bottom of the station popover. The floating menu now has a map picker button, to quickly switch to other maps.
When switching to a new map, any open popovers are closed. And if auto-locate is enabled, then the app will try to locate you and open the popover of the station nearest you.

The new map removes labels from various avenues and areas around NYC. It certainly looks cleaner.
