The librarian at #NYAM was grabbing some rare books from me from the locked shelves in the reading room. (Some original copies of Laennec's work on lung disease.)
When she pulled them down, another book caught her eye: a copy of a medical treatise from the 16th century, reprinted in Kyoto in the 17th century. It was a gorgeous book, but one which neither of our expertises could make heads or tails of.
It reminds me of what my #medievalist colleagues always say: the medieval world is much larger, and much more vibrant than westernized accounts of that history would say.

el lunes vi un vídeo de @[email protected] mu loco (burrata, idiazábal, sobrasada y fresas 🤯) y el martes compramos 1kg de fresas para probar (cambiamos la sobrasada por morcilla patatera que me trajeron mis padres del pueblo), muy rico. Y hoy planificando los menús de la semana me he topado con una receta de fresas asadas de @[email protected] y con eso nos hemos acabado las fresas.
