Saturday of Norwescon was less busy for me, with most of my official duties taken care of. I got to hit most of one great panel with lawyers answering questions about SF/F situations (“If you give your name to a fae and then later change it for an unrelated reason, do they still own your name?”). Gave my presentation on digital accessibility for publishers and authors, which went really well; as usual, it was a small audience, but very interested, engaged, and appreciative. Then lots of wandering, dancing, and socializing until I crashed out at 2 a.m. Even took some photos with my “real” camera, which will get processed and posted eventually. Another good day! And now for the final day and heading home this afternoon.

Wednesday afternoon, we’re strapping four people to the top of a giant explosion-on-a-stick and hoping we can get ‘em to whip around the moon a few times before falling back down. I’ve seen oddly little excitement or even news about this. We’re going back to the moon! Sure, best-case scenario for this launch is orbiting, not landing, but it’s the furthest off this rock we’ve attempted to go in my lifetime.
Norwescon early arrivals: Launch is scheduled for “no earlier than” 6:24 p.m. EDT, which is 3:24 p.m. here. If I’m done running errands and am in my hotel room, I may be up to hosting a small watch party for those who aren’t otherwise busy with setup at that time (unless, of course, someone with a suite wants to host). I’ll post if I do decide to do this. If not, find a TV or a livestream somewhere!
