One can use AI as an adjunct to therapy (not a replacement for a human) for many reasons, including that it is expert in many different approaches (e.g., emotion-focused therapy, metacognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, etc.) So (depending on your level of knowledge) you can ask it to take whatever approach you want. Then you can use `Hook to New` to create a bidirectionally linked ('hooked') note in the app of your choice. For me it's #omnioutliner, #nvUltra and @bbedit; for many people it's #obsidian or #Agenda.

I haven't jumped on the #Obsidian or #Notion bandwagon. I write in #BBEdit, #OmniOutliner, Apple Notes, #nvUltra and #1Writer. Each has its use. I link all the information with Hookmark. Hookmark's linking is much more general than Obsidian's

I have said before, I like to praise the things I like and find useful. I love #Obsidian. I use it every day. My use of it is very simple. Even though I’ve been using it for years, I don’t link all that much or use a ton of plugins. A tool I sometimes use on the underlying #Markdown files is #nvUltra. I love Obsidian’s model. I love the community. It’s great.

@MacLemon I'm curious how #NVAlt works with so many notes, and how you separate different types of information? I have really resonated with #Obsidian because different types of notes can be in separate vaults so they don't mix. My work notes are separate from my blog posts or my life management-type docs. How do you keep those separate in NVAlt or #NVUltra? Even having spaces based off different directories would help keep things orderly. @ttscoff

@ellane @andricheli @obsidianmd What fun you get to test nvUltra! I used nvAlt for years. It was what the zettelkasten.de guys used before they had their own app (https://zettelkasten.de/posts/nvalt-zettelkasten-implementation/).

What I like about plain text is that it creates traditions, even in a digital world (Unlike binary blobs zero-sum games). Plain text evolves slowly (sometimes very slowly), from simple text to Markdown to #obsidian and now #nvultra, but it can *still* contain your old notes. Groovy!

I've amassed ≈10k text only notes. On macOS I'm using #nvAlt https://brettterpstra.com/projects/nvalt/ which improved upon #NotationalVelocity https://notational.net all syncing via #Simplenote on iOS.

I'm hoping for #nvUltra https://nvultra.com/ by @ttscoff to become publicly available at some point. The betas I was lucky enough to try are phenomenal.
