Cat fouling can fall within statutory nuisance law.
If other people’s cats are fouling your garden repeatedly:
- Keep a simple log (dates, times, where, how often, impact on use of the garden).
- Gather evidence: short clips, photos, and notes of what you found and when.
- Report it as a statutory nuisance complaint and explicitly refer to deposits / accumulation affecting health or enjoyment of your home.
- Ask the council what steps they took to investigate (site visits, evidence review, assessment of health impacts).
If you get brushed off with “cats roam” or “civil matter”, point to the High Court’s message: the council must consider whether it’s a statutory nuisance on the facts, not reject the category outright.
Just throwing this out here to see if it bounces.

Despite my avian avatar, I have cats these days. One problem that I'm running into is that racoons are getting into my outdoor automatic cat feeder. It only dispenses enough for the cat at certain times of the day, but the racoons have taken to stealing the feeder and breaking it open. I've sealed/reinforced it with duct tape and even attached a barbell weight to the bottom of it to keep them from dragging it too far from my porch. Any suggestions on racoon-proofing my feeder?

Globalement, tous les légumes rappelés ont été commercialisés dans les magasins Leclerc de différents départements, entre le 11 janvier 2023 et 26 janvier 2024. Trois d’entre eux sont de la marque Cœur de jardin (…).
L’ensemble de ces légumes sont rappelés en raison d’un dépassement des limites autorisées de pesticides. Les substances concernées sont le 1.4 dimethylnaphthalene- le fludioxonil, le prothioconazole-desthio et le bixafen.
