@RWebbo25 Not sure what age your kid(s) are, but Dav Pilkey, the author of Captain Underpants ond DogMan series of kids books has #ADHD. I wouldn't say that it's the main theme of any of his books, but the stories definitely relate to being #nuerodiverse in a #Nuerotypical world. They're also a ton of fun and quite subversive. 😈

So much confusion and stress in my extended family is just people projecting #nuerotypical behaviour on to others who are #neurodivergent Assuming other people all think in exactly the same way as you is not #empathy

I have heard and read that research suggests that for #nuerotypical folks, if you look at scans of their #brains while they're thinking about their future selves, the same regions are active as when they think of themselves in pretty much any context. For folks with #adhd, thinking about our future self triggers different regions, regions which normally light up when we are thinking about #strangers. It suggests we struggle to stay connected to ourselves across #time.
