CW: Memoir Poem Containing: Bullying, Body Shaming, NB AFAB called "she" as a child, Fujoshi Shaming
It costs $0 to not be weird
and anyway, why would you want to be feared?
A girl who wants to play with the boys...
But the other girls share such joys!A body her type, shouldn't wear those,
Doesn't she know her belly's exposed?
A shirt that looks like, she rolled out of bed
So her mom bought her floral blouses insteadCan she talk about something other than games?
To anyone else, theyre childish and lame
And even with the kids, she cannot converse
It's The Walking Dead, not Steven Universe. She reads the "yaoi", whatever it's called
Found it in Summer, and now its Fall
But whatever it is, must be really gross.
She acts like she got an overdoseShe draws strange things, that look really bad
And yet when she shows it off she's glad?
God, please shut up, nobody cares
Hey you! Go ask her out on a dareNow they're an adult, and never leave their room
It's almost like they made it their tomb
They struggle a lot, they're not okay
They think about it every dayIt costs $0 to not be weird
but it cost me my life it appears#BeebzPoem #poetry #memoir #fujin #Fujoshi #actuallyadhd #actuallyautistic #nuerodiversity #childhoodtrauma

@roknrol
Honestly, I think my ability to keep my sh-t together for so long was part of my masking/passing.I didn't know I was #AuDHD & just had to work SO hard to function as expected.
I kind of white-knuckled life. It's a bit of a double-edged sword when I validated my #nuerodiversity & #burnout...cause I also wasn't able anymore to "force" myself into performing.
Of course, those years of performance (while looking "functional") came at quite the cost!

A Spanish-language Dosier on Neurodivergent Literacies is available, funded by the Literacies branch of UNESCO-CERLALC in Latin America.
This work is authored in part by Sara María Acevedo-Espinal, an Autistic Critical Disability Studies scholar from Colombia, and Assistant Professor at Miami University, Ohio.
https://cerlalc.org/publicaciones/dosier-neurodiversidad/
