In this lecture there is the mention of a discussion between Lise Meitner and Otto Fisch about the ethical implications of publishing their results, because the result does imply that it is possible to build a nuclear bomb.
This is one if the standard examples in debates about "dual use" technology. They did publish their result shortly after, and it lead to the race for the nuclear bomb.
In defence of the argument for publishing, I just had the thought that even though usually the debate about nuclear reactions is centered on warfare vs. civilian energy production, there also is the application of nuclear medicine. And putting warefare and energy production into relation to nuclear medicine, we simply must conclude that in absoute numbers nuclear technology has saved orders of magnitudes more people than it harmed!
So it is kind of hard to find a "dual use" technology, that did not, at least in the long run, create more benefit to humanity than suffering. Do you know an example of such a technology?

This could mean that a lot of Th-229 can be reallocated towards the production of medical isotopes instead.

Scientists claim that a new nuclear medicine therapy could completely cure blood cancer non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The therapy uses a radioimmunotherapy drug that targets and kills cancer cells with a radioactive isotope.
