Thanks to Maine for joining the National Popular Vote Compact. When we get the NPV adopted, votes from large states will have the same power as those from small states, there will be no more swing states, and candidates will campaign in all states. The Electoral College will be irrelevant.
This can happen by 2028.
If you’re in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia, we need you. Get to work.

If we could vote for president by popular vote rather than the electoral college, we would eliminate focus on swing states, candidates would campaign in every state, campaign funding would carry less weight because, my vote would matter, and the candidate with the most votes would be pres. it would be spread further. An effort in Lansing could change the way the #ElectoralCollege operates. A bill introduced in the #Michigan House of Reps would have the state join the #NationalPopularVote Interstate Compact. The compact is a group of states that has committed to give their electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the national popula vote.
