@ShmosKnows On the NPU side of things, in at least NPU-V, there isn't a lot of committee work. The reason being is that most of the "work" is done by the constituent neighborhood associations, whose members and leadership comprise the #NPUs.

However, the neighborhood associations themselves have very active committee work. For #AdairPark, that's where the functional/practical work gets done. In terms of getting involved, anyone who is a neighbor or owns a business (in Adair Park) is welcome to join committees - and committees select their own leadership.

My role as president of Adair Park Today (with the Board) is to support the committees and ensure they have the funding and support needed to implement policies and programs.

Most other neighborhood associations in #Atlanta function in a similar manner - some focus more on some issues than others, but the neighborhood associtions are effectively the smallest unit of government in #Atlanta.
