Gestern dann endlich #NewBikeDay. 😍
#nPlus1--> Stahlrahmen, 26" Laufräder, Flatbar, Monstergabel und dicke Reifen, also:
nix Gravel, sondern gyttja*, klein und robust (soll ja zu mir passen).*schwedisch für eine ganz bestimmte Art von Matsch
Dazu aber ne Pinion (bergtauglich übersetzt, elektronisch zu schalten) mit Riemen, Dynamo und Powerbank, robust gebaut inkl. Gepackträger usw. (180 kg Systemgewicht, so viel wie mein Lastenrad).

Ich mag ja die Bromptons sehr, aber es gibt da auch noch einen anderen britischen Ingenieur, der geniale und vor allem extrem filigrane Falträder entwickelt hat: #AlexMoulton

Wir haben ein neues #Lastenrad in #Dortmund: Ein #Bullitt namens Kermit 🐸
Kermit kommt aus #EssenRuhr vom Essener Lastenrad (ELA) und studiert ab sofort an der #FHDortmund am Max-Ophüls-Platz im #Kreuzviertel gegenüber der #Westfalenhallen.
Besonders praktisch: Kermit ist unser erstes Rad in der Flotte mit Kindersitz! @kidicalmassdo

Oops, I did it again: #NewBikeDay upcoming. I just called #Velofix to reserve a #Brompton Electric G-Line in "Adventure Orange" for me from their incoming batch. Hopefully will arrive in a few weeks.
First add-on: A Croozer trailer hitch for my Croozer Cargo as currently there are no other front bags than the tiny default one available for the #BromptonElectric G-Line in Switzerland. (In some countries they are available, but seemingly still rare.)

today in peak Desktop Linux news, I learned that I have a library installed that is an HEVC (H.265) and AV1 encoder/decoder library with a plugin architecture.
Its plugins are adapters to use other HEVC and AV1 encoder/decoder libraries.
It apparently depends or recommends around 5 of these plugins which depends on at least 3 different libraries that all supposedly do HEVC encoding
(I understand there might be Reasons why this is a good idea, but still...)

Well, about socks: I hate long socks. I also sometimes ride with sandals and then without socks at all.
But I do abide to rule 12 (#nplus1) and especially rule 17, but the one from https://recumbinati.nl/en/: "A recumbent bike is always photogenic enough to be photographed." 😎

Unfortunately (or luckily, depending on the point of view 😉) they mostly seem to have mountain bikes and nothing really fancy like folding bikes, recumbents, trikes, tandems, etc. 😇
In other news: I recently noticed that the n+1 rule also applies to #mechanicalkeyboards: I'm eagerly awaiting @thpoll's #polykbd becoming available for preorder at https://www.crowdsupply.com/polykybd/polykybd 😁

I have been truly impressed with the resiliency of the 3 node nutanix cluster we run at my work. We lost a building in a fire over the weekend and the other 2 nodes picked up the workloads with literally no intervention from me.
The fun will begin in a few weeks when we procure and redeploy the node.

#NewBikeDay #Nplus1: I bought another #foldingbike. But one much more wacky (and more wobbly 🤪) than a Brompton. It's a #Strida Mk1 from the late 80s or early 90s. Also British. More and especially more pictures later.
And no, I won't stop riding Bromptons. 😉

@Cutterpillow @ascentale @MartyCormack #BikeNite A6: I wonder if a belt would survive the chain/belt torsion of a typical front-wheel driven #recumbent (non-pivot-steered, e.g. like those from Zox Bikes) when the handlebar is turned.
Then again, front-wheel-driven recumbents are known for their large/bad turning circle anyways.
*sigh* Having surfed through https://www.zoxbikes.com/ I noticed that my recumbent collection (SWB, LWB, trike) clearly misses a front-wheel-driven recumbent. 🤤 #nplus1
