There’s satisfaction in crafting a good sentence. What satisfies your writer's ear?

Here’s one from the text I’m editing right now:

‘Jim is silent while he sips his tea.’

It’s simple but it sings

The repeated ‘i’ helps and the repeated ‘s’

And the i-sounds resolve in the ‘ea’ of tea at the end ☕️

Knocked off chapter 49 in no time at all and I'm now halfway into chapter 50, which, in theory, is the last chapter

Tomorrow will tell

Jim has made his big announcement and now his daughter Gemima is in floods of tears. That was not what was supposed to happen

Do you have a title for your WIP or just a working title

Titles are difficult
I did start this wip with a title (Backstreet Books) then the story turned in a totally unexpected direction within the first couple of chapters and the working title is now
'The Tidal Tearoom at Tormentil Scar' which is, of course, mad

I'm now writing chapter 18 and I haven't got a clue what is going on

novelx1: 6 weeks, more or less
novelx2: 10 years plus a bit
novelx3: a couple of years, I think
novelx4: 6 months; that was the plan. In fact, about 9 months
novelx5: it will be interesting to find out. Probably about one year
