Just made a $100+ order to support that great institution, American Science and Surplus. They're going through some financial struggles, and It's been years since I last ordered., and I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I picked up a couple of their famous surprise boxes. Got the $75 fund-raiser box, and a $12.50 electromechanical box (shipping charges pushed it the rest of the way). Dunno what I'll get, but I predict there will be fun inside!

On my short visit to #Seattle this week I managed to pass by #ArchieMcphee a novelty store that I haven't been to in about 5 years. Truly a paradise for someone raised on Mad magazine and that kind of aesthetic. If I ever won the lottery I would open a store like this just to cheer up people like me. #novelties #ToyStore

CW: Family history novelty
My neighbour (and casual employer) Rob called me earlier tonight from the little country town where my Dad was born, cos she knows that novel shit like that makes my dorky self's day.
She left outer western Sydney this morning and drove her truck for 7 hours to Gunnedah to pick up her caravan (long story) - where she also knows that part of my Mum's side are everywhere, and my Württembergisher great-grandfather and my Irish-born 2nd & 3rd great uncle (yes, he's twice-related) were once elected local councillors.
Tomorrow she sets up our dog treats stand at Dubbo Show, which is on Friday to Sunday.
Trivial family history shit that I will happily bore anyone with. 😬 And now you all too. 😅
