Last year, I forget the sport event, I was told my messaging was too harsh to be effective. I'm like so if a truth message isn't soft and cuddly enough for you, you're gonna use that as an excuse to be racist?

I reject 100% the idea that message delivery holds responsibility for what white people decide to do with receipt of the knowledge.

My Super Bowl posts are very unpopular on my Facebook profile, with only Native acknowledgement, and dead silence from white people. I'm gonna guess I will hear very little about football the next couple days. White people will watch it, but secretly is my guess.

What's this have to do with the Super Bowl? It's a proven medical and scientific fact that sports mascotry contributes all kinds of mental health issues especially in Native youth, including suicide. Educate yourself if you don't believe me.

Franchises like the Kansas City football team dehumanize Native peoples while encouraging racist behavior in stadiums, schools and on social media. Kansas City and the NFL continue to allow—and reap major profits from—the blatant racism of the team’s very name, logo and behavior like “the tomahawk chop.”
