#mastodon #nottwitter I am not sure if I can really make use of Mastodon anymore. I wanted this to become the next Twitter, but it's decidedly not that. I've made a few recent posts to try and get conversations on topics started and other than some bots retooting me, there has been no interaction. No one pro/con. No like. Just... nothing. There are plenty of people posting things here, but there just doesn't seem to be the interaction that one needs for constructive conversation. Is it just me?

Spoutible announces it will be offering AI generated summaries of threaded posts, a first in the microblogging world.

I guess technically true although @IceCubesApp has had AI integrations for awhile, just not summarization of a thread specifically.

T2.social is now Pebble, with a new design and a new feature - Ideas. Looks like it is using AI to provide you with new post ideas based on your previous activity on the site.

This isn't a federated platform, but it's not twitter, so there's that.

Mastodon is #NotTwitter Please Disney folks, leave the “negativity for clicks” mindset behind. Criticism sure. Yes, always warranted. But screaming over mundane things like routine ride maintenance or proclaiming blatantly false rumors as truth is not criticism. There’s a chance for actual conversation on #mastodon

Frankly, I think the magic happens here when you realize you’re getting everything you need from your Home timeline and notifications alone.

Nice to skim Local and Federated, but doesn’t feel the necessity it was in the first few days.

Reply, boost, follow everyday people who spark your joy and follow hashtags no matter how mundane if you enjoy engaging on the subject. Don’t look at numbers as your success measure. Count “a ha moments” and meaningful connections instead.

I wonder if the people saying I’ve set this up as a life raft in case twitter doesn’t work out are the same people who’s relationships overlap because they can’t stand the idea of being alone?

I’ve only been here a couple of weeks but it breaks my heart that mastodon would be someone’s backup plan and not their first choice, it’s so lovely here and the best thing about it is that it’s not twitter!

This is so weird - it is like when I first discovered twitter in 2009 - everything feels fresh, new and more importantly, inclusively social.

Looking at how many people are active on #mastodon is really so motivating - I truly hope the movement continues to grow so society can finally realise the value of open platforms.
