So yeah, I'm still here. I'm trying to get rid of the weight the treatment has given me, unsuccessfully.
I have no sex drive at all, my body hair has changed, my self image is appalling, my back hurts all the time and my body temperature is out of control. Hot flushes, yay.
But I'm still here. Fuck cancer.

Chemotherapy is awful.
The injections for the testosterone suppression are awful.
The side effects of both are awful.But I'm still here. If I'd had no symptoms, I wouldn't be. Pretty stark.
As is seeing the box for "palliative treatment, not curable" ticked on your treatment consent form.

Individually, sure. If aggressive lifestyle advertising drives suicide rates up five percent, that's a lot of people who didn't need to die. God forbid they get ’clever' and start trying to sabotage/undermine suicide help lines ala the 'crisis center' model.
I never really thought about this angle until a disabled friend involved in #notdeadyet pulled me along the train of thought.

Cracking on with my stuff. The next couple of months is going to be busy, but also interesting. A lot of writing projects coming to a head. Launching my next book in October (sign up on kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dharrigon/somebody-keeps-callin) and finalising a board game design to show of at PAX Aus. Then, possibly, moving to Melbourne. Deep breath.
