I like being anonymous online because it allows me to be vulnerable without judgment.

Today I saw my little daughter through our window after school. She stopped by with grandma to slide me a permission slip through a crack in the door.

I haven't been able to hug her since last Sunday. Since my wife and I got terribly sick and shipped her off to prevent her from getting sick too.

I held it together until she trotted off beyond sight and then the waterworks came. Deep gut wrenching sadness.

Being this sick has been equally physically demanding as it has been mentally demanding... I miss my girl.

Some personal news.

Wife caught Norwalk Virus. Brought it home. My body, already exhausted from clearing snow, welcomed the new virus with open arms.

We had to ship our kid to my mom's to avoid further spread.

We've both been crushed, with my wife getting the worst of it. It's hard to provide care for someone else when you yourself can't get out of bed. It's been miserable.

We're still weak and foggy but slowly taking steps in the right direction.
