Today I took myself to a forest for some much-needed nature time. There’s a Save-On grocery store nearby so I stopped in.
They have a *huge* health section. The nutritionist came to see if I was finding everything + I mentioned I was happy to see the selection of brands.
I noted one for hot flashes + he was surprised I needed that. He said he thought I was 35 but I told him I’ll be 55 this year.
I love seeing surprised reactions to my age.

I’m on a bus waiting for a driver. People keep getting off the bus.

This is the last leg of my journey home to North Van from Costco in Vancouver so I’m staying put. Hope the driver shows up soon.

Today I’m heading to a large Winners/HomeSense in Vancouver to see if I can find some more bamboo sheets. I’m at the bus stop waiting for the bus to take me to the SeaBus. There was a dog near the bus stop intently watching a rat cross the street 🐶🐀👀

I set a record for my longest hike since I started using an Apple Watch! 🙌 I hadn’t even had the watch a year when it was suddenly painful just to stand.
Since I’m still using a cane outside, I decided to use my hiking poles. Good decision.
I started to cry when I arrived at the park. Tears of gratitude. The past couple of years have been the worst chapter of my life. I’m ready to be on the other side.

Today the universe gave me a gift so I paid it forward.
I received a text from a kind person reaching out to let me know my package was delivered to their building by mistake. When I called the company to let them know what happened, they said they wouldn’t charge me again after already giving me a refund.
I sent the kind person a gift card. It’s treacherous out there + they didn’t have to walk over to me.

I made it to the duck pond! I took a bus that dropped me off a couple blocks from the park. It was nice to have a tiny nature walk before arriving at the bench in front of the duck pond. The ducks weren’t there. How rude. 😆

I was last at the duck pond more than a year ago. I had no idea then the multiple foot health issues I would eventually endure. I may not be able to walk there yet but it was good for my soul to get there.

I moved into my apartment 11 years ago today! This is the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere. We moved around a lot when I as a kid. I moved 3 times in 3 years after leaving my marriage. I used the same movers each time. When they were leaving after moving me 11 years ago, they said: see you next year!
Five years was the longest I’d lived somewhere before this. It was also in North Van. Guess I’m officially a North Van girl.

Today I walked to the park near my place with my walker. It took 15 minutes but I did it. I had to stop many times to rest. A kind lady cheered me on after introducing herself.
It is a 3-minute walk to the park when I’m able-bodied.
