People love the Hugh Lane Gallery, which is why it makes sense that I’m always being asked when it’s gonna be open again.
The bad news is we still have a few years to wait, the good news is that when it reopens it’s gonna be ready to connect into a brand new city library that is gonna bring new life to the area, bringing new life and civic space to the square.

34 buses ordered and delivered, now we just need the government to fund the O Spine to connect up the inner city.

Wouldn’t be anywhere without my extremely dedicated canvassers! It’s strange to trust other people to sell yourself to strangers on the door but they have been fantastic. The conversations and feedback have been amazing on the doors I’ve not been able to get to and I really appreciate it!

It’s about time these compactors have come to the north side. Everyone is fed up with having to walk over plastic bags in the city centre, or seeing seagulls and pests tearing them apart to get food and pulling the rush out all over the place.
It comes up so often on the doors so I’m happy to say we finally have the solution in place.

Great to be out chatting to people in Ballybough this bank holiday Monday. Lots of important chats about care, transport and other national issues. I enjoyed sharing my vision for the Dublin we can have, the Dublin we deserve, the response I got was really positive and I hope I’ll get to bring that vision to the Dáil in May.

Gerard Hutch’s comments on immigration, particularly singling out the Somali community, are prejudiced, harmful, and straight out of the Donald Trump playbook.
People coming to Ireland seeking refuge are entitled to be treated with the same dignity and respect as everyone else, and should not be singled out on nationality, race or any other factor.

The so called Taoiseach’s Task Force is nothing but a broken promise for the inner city that’s long forgotten now that he’s Tánaiste.

Remember when Capel Street used to be choked up with traffic?
Now it’s full of people relaxing enjoying local businesses, cycling through to get to their next destination, sitting on the benches, or taking a leisurely stroll chatting with their mates.
I’m proud to have pushed for this change. We pushed back against the scaremongering and created a street that people love so much.
This is the Dublin we deserve.

Do you think the North Inner city needs more Casinos and slot machines? My answer is no. Thanks to all who supported my petition against it.
I’m delighted to see that the Casino planning application was rejected! We’ll be keeping an eye on it though because the owners have the option to appeal, and have also broken planning rules before.
Thanks so much to everyone who added their name to my objection!

Less daft rents, more cost rental. We need to deliver cost rental, social housing, and affordable purchase housing at scale to meet the demands we have for housing. The government has become complacent and we need to keep pressure on them if they’re ever going to deliver.

Deposit return scheme has seen 66% reduction in litter and has increased amount & quality of plastic recycling from 49% to 90%+.
I met with Dermot Mulligan of Return to chat about successes and challenges in inner city such as availability of machines, usage of return rings on public bins, people collecting bottles from bins.
I asked them to roll out more machines in inner city and make it easier to donate bottles to local causes. More work to be done!

This week I’ve been speaking about the right kind of housing for areas, looking at derelict properties that could be turned into housing, and ways to improve the standard of housing.
I am also speaking about ways to make home ownership achievable and renting more affordable. There are so many ways to help with the housing crisis that I want to push for, so stay tuned!

My speech on @raycunningham ‘s motion to phase out HGVs with high blind spots in the city centre. I was really happy to see this pass in the council chamber last night.
The motion requires HGVs to seek permits to operate in parts of the city with progressively higher visibility standards required, similar to what we see in London.
My thoughts are with to the family and loved ones of Johnny Santos.

There's supposed to be a community #safety scheme for the #NorthInnerCity. It hasn't happened. Why?
