We follow the twisting single track B869 north and then east to join the main road south of Kylesku. Until 1984 the crossing of the loch at Kylesku was accomplished by ferry: or by a 100 mile detour inland via Lairg. Then the stunningly beautiful Kylesku Bridge upened to traffic. We travel 10 miles west by road to Lochinver, the largest settlement on the west coast of Scotland north of Ullapool. The village and its harbour have grown around the inland, eastern end of Loch Inver. The harbour has been enlarged several times, most recently in 1992. A lovely view from the village of #Drumbeg in the Scottish Highlands. We took the Drumbeg Loop (B869) to get here after crossing the Kylesku Bridge. I've never held on to the holy crap handle so tight. That stretch of road is not for the faint of heart! Glad there was no oncoming traffic on the the scariest part of the road. I could see it being a nightmarish drive in the summer months.
