Badacz bezpieczeństwa Cory Solovewicz jest właścicielem domen noreply.us i noreply.net, które kupił odpowiednio w 2020 i 2024 roku. Początkowo planował stworzyć skrzynkę catch-all, aby odbierać pocztę z dowolnego adresu w domenie. Okazało się jednak, że stworzył w ten sposób własny honeypot. A #researcher bought noreply.net. Companies started sending him secrets.
Cory Solovewicz receives more unwanted emails than you. Seriously—it’s a lot more. Since December 2024, one of the domains at which the #security researcher receives #email has registered 401,796 messages—by his calculations that’s an average of 699.99 pings per day.
This deluge isn’t the regular flood of spam, newsletters, and unwanted deals that fill many people’s inboxes. Instead, companies and other organizations are inadvertently sending Solovewicz other people’s private information and company #secrets. Over the last few years, he’s received injury reports from a city government, confirmation of people’s pizza orders, and account setup emails from a school platform. “I get service orders for people that need repairs. I get lots of test platform credentials,” says Solovewicz, a security researcher and consultant.

The use of #NoReply addresses ( and #ShortCodes instead of #PhoneNumbers ) should be illegal as in:
- Lifetime ban for using Computers and Phones
- Life no less than 25 years of jailIf you - as a business or organization - can send me a message, you owe me the ability to reply to you in the same way.

3. Don't send me a email in reply to say you are not going to reply. Either pony-up and pay the people to handle email, or SHUT DOWN the fucking email channel. Why it's *never* a good idea to use a no-reply email? Well, simply because 💩 happens. This is an "unsubscribe link" from a newsletter of a renowned company. I'm sure they did not want to lock me in their spam trap. But without being able to quickly hit reply and report a problem, I'm not going to bother and just mark their emails as spam.
Which makes the potential of non-delivery even for legit interested users. -

Two of my favorite coworkers quit in the last couple of months and I’m not really loving my job any more. I can’t tell if I should look for a different job or if I should schedule more personal project time. I guess this is a #noreply. I don’t feel like a have a lot of direction and my gut impulse is to find meaning through work, which is kind of gross, but it’s how I work. 🥲
