Gibts eigentlich noch die Bahn-Direktverbindung von #Norddeich über #Bremen nach #Leipzig? Unter https://www.deutschebahn.com/de/presse/presse-regional/pr-leipzig-de/aktuell/presseinformationen/Sonntag-ist-Fahrplanwechsel-Alle-Neuerungen-fuer-Sachsen-Sachsen-Anhalt-und-Thueringen-im-Ueberblick-13696100 steht, dass die Züge zwischen Leipzig und Ostfriesland nur noch zweistündlich verkehren; aber unter bahn.de finde ich gar keine Direktverbindung.
Unter https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Intercity-Linien_(Deutschland)#Linie_56 ist die Verbindung aufgeführt; aber unter bahn.expert finde ich keinen IC 56.
Bin kein Bahn-Experte; weiß jemand, ob es diese Direktverbindung tatsächlich noch gibt?

The obligatory photograph of a railway station I had the honour of visiting, and spending time waiting for late trains at.
This is #Norddeich which is served by a single track line, and on the left is a parked InterCity train which, when the scheduled departure time came, slowly moved away from the parking track onto the main track, waited for another train from Norddeich Mole - one station to the end of the line - and then leisurely left, late.

I've always understood the attraction of playing in mud as a child, but this area attracts adults far more, and there are regular competitions in the mud at low water.
Here two youths run out across the mudflats at Norddeich towards the water, struggling against the suction on their feet.

My trip to Norddeich is only memorable for the fact that I went there. I've never been out to the mudflats on the north coast of Germany before, and I was surprised at the amount of concrete used to line the edge of the sea. There is no beach at all, directly on the sea, but sand held together as dunes further inland.
This is a concrete pathway down to the water's edge, lined with stones set in concrete.

Just arriving in Leer (Ostfriesland), a few minutes late. Here we have a short break so that the crew can get from one end of the train to the other, and we drive back out almost the way we came.
The good thing about sitting in a four-seat where no one trusts themselves to share: I can simply swap over and face the direction of travel again.
Next time, though, as well as a book, I'll pack sandwiches....

Of course, I didn't bother checking anything other than destination. Norddeich is a two hour journey. I really ought to have packed a book this morning....

Coffee and do(ugh)nuts with friends, then off to the main train station and pick a train.
Now on my way to Norddeich, perhaps even Norddeich Mole, but probably not. Another coastal town, just because.

Wahrscheinlich wird #Facebook & Co kein nachhaltiges Geschäftsmodell finden.
