Many of my kids want to securely text other kids who have laptops but not a phone plan or a debit card or spare money securely. This will stop that.
This will also make new users think that signal is a greedy company doing pay for privacy.

Tomorrow is the 2nd #dance of the summer sequence. Since we don't allow phones on the dance floor I thought I'd share an image of the space after I set it up (from last month). The best way to see it for yourself is to join us and dance like no one is watching 7-8PM. RSVP or drop in, the lights will be off and #music will be loud.

I saw John Mulaney and Pete Davidson in Providence last night. It was a #nophone show. A person called the ticket holder to make sure they understood that they needed to print out a paper ticket. There was a system of putting phones and smart watches in a magnetic sealed bag which was given back to the owner. No required proprietary apps required. It was refreshing. Good show too.

So Google successfully pillaged the phone that I bought a few years ago.
I turned on the phone this morning to listen to an audio book while I was making coffee and breakfast. Mid sentence Google turned off my phone and install a newer version of Android.
I actually went a few months without installing a newer version of Android last year into this year. I decided to upgrade for a feature that I wanted, but instead of an upgrade I got malware that will do things like this without my consent now.
Oh well. Experiencing this makes it emotionally easier to go #NoPhone, but it is quite inconvenient to have my device taken from me like that.
