    Don't be a defeatist about SF politics, or politics in general. *Do* something about it! Yes, there is a lot of pro-carceral tech money, and yes, the city seems to be in an anxious mood that might lead people to vote for dumb stuff. That's not the end of the story tho. The rich tech jerks still have us to contend with, doing our best to block their way.
