To make absolutely sure that the 6502 #processor is defective, I built a #NOP test #circuit on a #breadboard with a 100kHz #NE555 clock and a couple of LEDs on the address lines.
A known working 6502 looks fine, I can clearly see the higher address lines counting up (I accidentally inverted the LEDs).
The one from the 1541 doesn't show any activity. Only address lines A0 to A3 look normal on the oscilloscope.
