De dolfijn die ruim twee maanden in het Noorzeekanaal heeft zwommen is vandaag op eigen kracht weer terug naar zee gezwommen. Een sluiswachter heeft het dier vandaag de sluis zien passeren.

In het Noordzeekanaal, ter hoogte van Velsen, zwemt een dolfijn, meldt natuurorganisatie SOS Dolfijn. De organisatie kreeg zondagochtend voor het eerst een melding over het dier, dat toen door iemand op een zeilboot was gezien. SOS Dolfijn heeft vandaag de dolfijn ook zelf gelokaliseerd.

@codewiz having lived next to (and below) the #Noordzeekanaal (#NorthSeaCanal) in the #Netherlands for the majority of my life, where I'd see everything from speedboats and rowboats to big marine vessels, cruise ships and century old #tallships basically in my backyard, and visited #Utrecht and #Amsterdam with canals all through their cities, I'm definitely not impressed by this either. :)

This #bridge over #ZijkanaalC (side channel "C" of the #NorthSeaChannel #Noordzeekanaal) was part of my daily view while growing up in the #Netherlands.
It's seen many iterations (and actually, the original bridge that this one replaced, no longer exists), but nevertheless it's a very familiar sight for me.
Before migrating to Norway, I tried getting it accepted as portal in #Ingress, but unfortunately it got rejected. -
