I keep trying to find a place for our house #church to rent so we can grow as a congregation. We bring in about $50-100 a week and average 5-11 people.
Commercial spaces ask for quite a lot in rent, upwards of $500/wk. Churches ask for far less, but that puts us between a rock and a hard place. Some churches won't rent to us because we are #LGBTQ. Others won't rent to us because we're #nondenominational. I understand. Both these things threaten power structures.

I grew up mostly in the #Episcopalian Church, very #HighChurch, & simultaneously a group called #Shalom, a #nondenominational community that grew directly from #CharismaticCatholic or #CatholicEvangelical movement. Yes, that was a thing. #Catholics, nuns even, playing guitars & speaking in #tongues (which I'd learn much later on can be called #glossolalia; yes, I definitely did do that). So I can't *precisely* call myself an #Exvangelical, but I'm definitely in the same biosphere, so to speak.

Jim Whelchel (American) is the pastor in charge of our international missions. He is a missionary himself. Speaks Tagalog really well too.
