Not only are the #Oil importers fleecing all and sundry while the #US-Israeli war on #Iran and the #Russian war on #Ukraine provide the excuses to raise the price of a barrel, but the #GasExporters are racking it in because of increased demand worldwide. And in Australia, these gas #Grifters are profiting from minimal tax to no export tax whatsoever allowing #Japan to buy the Gas more cheaply and onsell it (some of back to Australia now and again) for a #profit (another cause of inflation). Meanwhile, every Australian #mortgagee is paying for it. Hence Varoufakis’s righteous indignation:

“No plausible rise in the cash rate will open up the strait of Hormuz, or convince Gulf insurers to lower their premiums, or compel a barrel of Brent crude priced in a global market to come down because a Melbourne mortgage holder is stressed. What it will do is suppress Australians’ spending, wages, their ability to keep a roof over their heads, ultimately their economy’s capacity to invest and to produce. It is a little like treating a broken leg by amputating the healthy one.”

No *wage earner* should put up with this vile economic trickery or the politicians who complicitely enable the #plunder of our #resources and our meagre, hard-earned income. It’s time to put **real representatives** in Parliament and not *stooges* for the #RentierClass

I finally got the book on Sept 22!

I knew it would trigger my anger so I limited myself to 30-50 pages/day. I finished it yesterday.

I wish everyone would read this book!

It names all the fascists plotting our downfall, shows how they are interconnected, what they are planning and how arrogant and superstitious they are.

I disagree with imprisonment as a solution though, as imprisonment can be overturned. A guillotine solution cannot.

The answer to #CostOfLivingCrisis is, and always was, #HigherWages. #Corporation and #businesses will **always** equate *Productivity Increase* with workers working harder and will tie this to any wage increases. Because that is what #Grifters **Do**. They treat wage earners as *Commodities* and a *Cost* to doing business because **they can**. And workers have now heard that *narrative* so many times over the generations that they believe that **crap**.

Ross Gittins’ article in the SMH today thanks Greg Jericho for blowing the whistle on the real cause of the cost-of-living crisis, wages.

Greg has been pointing out that while prices and profits have been going up, wages have not been keeping up. The amount of stuff that workers can buy is going backwards.

Ross wrote:

So I’m indebted to the Australia Institute’s Greg Jericho for being the country’s first economist to blow the whistle. He’s actually looked up the numbers and seen that, though businesses kept increasing their prices in the first two years following the COVID pandemic – March 2021 to March 2023 – the workers weren’t game to ask for a pay rise.

Ross also points out that when bosses say give us an improvement in productivity and we’ll give you a pay rise, they have it backwards. Higher wages now will encourage businesses to improve the productivity of there now more expensive workers.

The solution to the cost-of-living crisis is higher wages.”

It’s even worse than that. Some of the ‘cost relief’ is simply govt subsidies/tax breaks to private enterprise so they wont put prices up. That kind of relief does nothing to relieve anything at all for workers and only increases the flight of wealth to the wealthy #Grifters and #Rentiers. It’s full on #ClassWar and #StateTheft.

TBF, I know nothing about her health and would not presume to comment on her body-type. It’s the same for everyone. The presumption that body-type somehow reveals a person’s personality and character is not founded in facts. I may find a person unattractive (for whatever reason I might have) but I will not use that emotional response to judge a person.

A word or two (quoted from Prof. Richard Murphy) on the nonsense of increasing the official #CashRate to stymie anticipated #inflation stemming from external uncontrolled events. Here, the European Central Bank is the guilty party but it holds true for all Central Banks.

“This [ECB] move is meant to control inflation arising as a consequence of the war between the USA and Iran, as well as food shortages arising from that same war and drought. No one is suggesting there is excess demand in the Eurozone. However, inflation arising from excess demand, a phenomenon not seen in many economies for decades because so many people are having so many problems in making ends meet, is the only type of inflation that an interest rate rise can address.”

Not only do we know all of this, but so do the #CentralBanks (they’re not stupid).

WHy is it that with *Every* iOS update on my iPad I have issues, unresolved until a minor update (bug fix) is issued?

It denies #Labor ‘s voting-base roots is a bulwark against #PHON penetration of the Lower House because Labor has vacated it and in so doing has left a vacuum of resentment, anger and protest grounded in the 90s which PHON will harvest in future elections. Labor’s support is growing in the the ‘class’ that the #LNP have left to fend for themselves as the #Noalition lurches further and further to right-wing populism bleeding support all the while.

You know, as I think back upon my youth, I realize that the TV show I watched at the youngest age probably was the one that most prepared me for adult reality: Scooby Doo.
