“(Somebody Got) Soul, Soul, Soul” from The Wild Magnolias’ exceptional self-titled 1974 debut album with The New Orleans Project. This was the first major-label LP by a Mardi Gras Indian tribe, and was followed by one from The Wild Tchoupitoulas. #nolamusic #wildmagnolias #vinyl

“Right Place, Wrong Time” from the the 1973 album by the late,
great New Orleans icon, Dr. John (aka Mac Rebennack), titled In the Right Place. It also had the song “Such a Night” that was in The Last Waltz. #drjohn #NOLAmusic #rocknroll #blues #funk #vinyl #recordcollection

“Mama Roux” from the late, great Dr. John’s brilliant 1968 debut album Gris-Gris. It’s included in Professor Bizarre’s Funknolgy, a superb limited-run compilation of early career tracks (1968-1974) from the good doctor’s albums on the Atco label. #drjohn #nolamusic #vinyl

“Here Dey Come” from the self-titled 1976 album by The Wild Tchoupitoulas, a quintessential New Orleans record that also features members of The Meters and four of the Neville Brothers. Badass NOLA music. #wildtchoupitoulas #nevillebrothers #the meters #nolamusic

i'm not quite ready to make an nF mastodon account yet, so quick boost of nF's fall fundraiser:

https://nienteforte.com/fallfundraiser/

I've run nF for 10+y now as a side passion project. now that I'm freelancing i'm hoping to scale the org properly and go official non-profit soon.

Any contribution is helpful to pay my outstanding performers what they deserve and keep the op running smoothly

Feel free to ask me any questions, i'm happy to answer.
