No Kings 3, Saturday, March 28, 2026
Greensboro, NC
I'm guessing at least 5,000 protestors marched to the Guilford County Courthouse, and I observed them to be predominantly white people, of Boomer or Gen-X ages, although there were also a few Millenials in the mix, and a handful of younger families with small children.

I saw just as many men as women, and I noticed quite a few veteran's hats or military flags.

Three marches passed safely through the city streets. I saw no counter-protestors on my route. We were instructed / escorted / observed by the city police.

All 3 marches ended in downtown Greensboro, in front of the courthouse, where another crowd had already gathered. At one point, authorities asked everyone to move away from the area, and get back at least two stoplights' distance, due to a discovery that caused concern. Everyone quietly and respectfully backed up, and we all stayed away, until we were given the all-clear to return safely.

No one was hurt or arrested while I was there, although a couple of older women fell during the march. But they got back up, and kept on marching.

Nobody predicted frog costumes and choreography at the No Kings D.C. protest but here we are and honestly? We needed this. 🐸💃 Protestors dancing to “War — What Is It Good For?” reminds us that joy IS the resistance. You can’t crush a movement that knows how to dance. #NoKings2026

Grand Marais, Minnesota — a tiny town on chilly Lake Superior — showed up in a BLIZZARD today for democracy. ❄️🌊✊ This hearty crowd of freedom-lovers bundled up, braved the cold, and came out anyway because some things matter more than the weather. Small town. Enormous heart. #NoKings2026

Also, just because someone is actually well prepared (dressed for the conditions, wearing a pack ) and not carrying a sign ... they're not necessarily a right wing agitator or some undercover goon. Don't be assholes to us. #nokings2026

Random thoughts about the No Kings event in Scottsdale:

-People show up badly equipped for spending 2 hours in the heat (even though today wasn't that bad). Shorts, open toed shoes and no water - not good.

-Do we not have any modern protest songs? Everything I heard was straight out of a Vietnam movie.

-Where are the community leaders? They need to be out here visibility and audibly.

-We need to see a lot more young people in the crowd.
