我有安裝folder sync這個軟體，目的就是要把我手機拍的camera資料夾，自動同步到WiFi路由器上的USB隨身碟，透過FTP的模式。
我家有電視業者提供的WiFi路由器，以及我自己買的一個WiFi路由器（才支援USB硬碟），業者路由器現在是192.168.0.X，我買的路由器是192.168.1.X。
我希望我人在外面拍照的時候也會自動傳到家裡的隨身碟，所以我有去no IP網站申請DNS，可以透過FTP網址自動同步到家裡的隨身碟。
問題來了，我用192.168.0.10:21，以及192.168.1.1:21，在windows跟手機FTP軟體，都讀取得到資料夾，也能進行同步，唯獨NOip申請的網址就是對應不到家裡的IP，他取得的IP跟我家裡的WANIP不一樣，是因為我把DNS設定在192.168.1.1這台的關係嗎@@？

After almost 2 decades I finally managed to move away from #noip. It started nice and easy with a free account and inadyn set up. After a while you had to login at least once a month on the website otherwise inadyn would fail. So I updated to a paid account (still cheaper than a domain back then). Now, domains are cheaper and lots of noip domains are blacklisted, so I changed. As a little bonus: now my host is in the #EU.

Just got an email from #NoIP; they're raising their prices and the email is essentially telling me to renew my domains before the price hike so I can avoid it a little longer. The email says you can renew for up to 10 years at once to push the updated price down the road.
Updated prices take effect January 6th.

#GoodMorning! #Noip.com is offering a free #DynDNS service. Nice, no problem with that. You have to pay to update the record automatically, no problem with that.
The shit goes wrong when you don't update the record and your domain goes into "redemption" and you cannot remove it or prolong it again unless you pay...😅
It would be better not to offer a free service than make it a fucking trap to force users to pay. If I've ever cosidered paying - they've lost me.

So the DDNS scripts on my GL-iNet OpenWRT router were not quite reliable, so I decided to install the official #NoIP dynamic update client on my PiHole/VPN server to update my hostname. But, I remembered that inadyn had TLS as "optional", and NoIP themselves still have instructions on updating a hostname by literally putting your password in an unencrypted http request.
So, I did a packet capture on noip-duc. Turns out it does indeed use a secure https connection, 🙂

I'm currently running an #ssh and #nextcloud server on an old computer in my house and using #noip to point a url to my IP address.
For ssh, I have disabled password verification and only use keys. Aside from this, are there any other things I should do to protect against attacks?
