  6. Well, I made my goal with a week to spare on decline push-ups. Just finished set two a bit ago; got exactly 100. That's 202 on the day! Been working up to 100 in set two since early August. 70th birthday arrives in 10 days.

Today I surpassed twice as many handstand push-ups as last year. (I've done 214 year-to-date, typically on Wednesdays.)

    It's another new p.r., and I visualized it during the night. Two more sets will come this evening as I ramp up to two sets of 100 or more (29½-cm offset; parallettes for fuller ROM). Times to decile counts were also records. I've squished the vast middle down with sped-up video to keep it watchworthy and get 8½ minutes down to 2¼. The start and end are normal speed to aid form assessment.

  36. Where I feel these most is in my brachioradiales (anterior radial forearm, plural)—not, surprisingly, my quads. Halfway through, they're screaming and I want to stop. But then, miraculously, the urgent ache goes away! I'm not sure what the mechanism is there. But that muscle will help you immensely with pull-ups, dead hangs, general grip strength, etc. Video is 3x speed, and this is the last bit.
